Expo East 2013: Re-cap
On May 19th Ash City headed to Atlantic
City for Expo East 2013, a four day tradeshow which brought together industry
members from various regions. It was great tradeshow as it helped expand
networks, promote products, and enhance industry knowledge. The tradeshow was hosted by Promotional
Products Association International (PPAI) and Speciality Advertising
Associations of Greater New York (SAAGNY), and together they put on an amazing
show!
PPAI is notorious for attracting some of the best
distributors to their tradeshows. Approximately 72% of distributors have over
six years’ experience in the industry! Attendees came from various areas of
business such as, promotional product distributors, embroiderers and
screen printers, forms and commercial printers, and awards and recognition.
With-that being said, it’s obvious why we always
enjoy attending tradeshows. They provide great opportunities to inform others
about our products. At Expo East 2013 we were able to market our products,
network with other industry professionals and learn more about other companies
in the industry.
We were introduced to various distributors and
through these new relationships we were able to form valuable business
contacts. The Expo was great for reinforcing relationships with current customers
and working with distributors on their upcoming and current programs. We also
held several presentations that really helped customers learn more about our
products.
Angela Sheridan, Ash City’s, Marketing Services
Manager especially enjoys attending tradeshows.
“I always enjoy getting out in front of our
customers, and it’s great to get face to face feedback about our products and
services.”
However, with so much going on, tradeshows can
sometimes be very overwhelming for both the exhibitor and the attendee.
According to Angela it is very important to stand out and distinguish your
booth from all the others.
“Present and display your product in a unique way.
It can be overwhelming for an attendee on the show floor so you want to be
noticeable and inviting. Attendees are taking in a lot of information so
leaving them with something memorable will help you stand out when they return
to their business. In addition, have a follow up plan for the contacts you’ve
made that makes the best impression.”
We hope to see you at our next tradeshow!
