Christopher Tran is one of Ash City’s best Inside Sales
Representatives. He is constantly exceeding expectations in generating sales, maintaining great company/client relations and promoting campaigns.
In this short interview he shares some insider knowledge
about what makes him successful in his career.
Can you describe the kind of work you do as an Inside Sales Representative?
As an Inside Sales Rep. my main goal is to help the client
build a trust and loyalty to Ash City and myself by going above and beyond the
call of duty.
By doing so I can understand how their business works and
see what type of service fits their style. Some clients require more help
than others solely because of the capacity of their business but I adapt very
well to their needs.
I have created/promoted presentations, flyers, and promos
which can help the client win many opportunities. In one sentence I would
say I work with them as a partner and by doing that I build a strong bond.
What do you enjoy most about working for Ash City?
What I enjoy most at Ash City is working with the people
here. I feel it helps me grow as an employee and a person when I can help
someone solve a challenge (there are no such things as problems…only
challenges) or when they can help me solve my challenge. Team work and
listening to each other is very important in growing together as a company.
What do you enjoy most about your career?
That every day I am faced with a new challenge and every day
I solve it using a new resolution. The thrill of overcoming obstacles
with results makes me enjoy my career. I enjoy helping people.
How has your approach and/or outlook of dealing with clients changed
since you first started?
I understand how they think and by doing so I know what they
require in regards to winning their opportunities. Each client is
different than the other so you can’t use the same style on everyone but you
need to adapt to them.
What are some successful tactics you use to discover and purse new
client opportunities?
Just talk to them and get to know them on a personal
level. Once you can do that they will feel more comfortable with you and
will always come to you when there is an opportunity BUT you need to make sure
when they give you an opportunity to provide the service they expect….and go
above it. Then trust will be built and loyalty will be gained.
What motivates you when you are having a difficult time generating
sales?
One thing that motivates me when I am having a tough time is
gaining knowledge from others. By doing this I can figure out a different
method in generating more sales. Your method may not always work so it is
important to listen to team mates.
How do you “stand out” when are trying to market different promotional
campaigns?
I stand out by showing the client how they can save money
or make more profit. I work for Ash City but I indirectly work for the
client too and when they see that they will believe in me more and trust what
any campaign I bring forward.
What advice would you give to someone who is just entering into this
career/industry?
Be yourself but don’t be complacent. Don’t be afraid to
be rejected because if you be yourself that rejection will turn into acceptance
over some time.
You have to change and adapt to the market and need to show
them why you are their first choice when they need apparel.
I always say go above and beyond and those who go above and
beyond are always remembered.
